While 2021 didn’t turn out to be the “return to normal” everyone hoped for, it was a year that found us all adapting to new circumstances and finding ways to push forward. Between vaccination rollouts, global supply chain disruptions, an unprecedented reshuffling of the workforce, and the emergence of new COVID-19 variants, the events of 2021 underscored the need for organizations across all industries to be flexible and make informed decisions quickly.
Fortunately, the team at Roger West Creative & Code is nothing if not flexible and quick on our feet. Throughout 2021, we worked hard to develop new ways to collaborate with our clients and help them build stronger relationships with their customers.
Expanding the Roger West Family
We got those efforts underway by bringing in some new talent to support our existing team. Our new Director of Digital Strategy, Tim Peyton, brought more than a decade of experience with digital marketing, paid media, and data analytics to our paid and organic digital marketing services to generate better results for our clients.
Salim Rouwayheb also came aboard as Director of Email Marketing Strategy to provide the technical and design expertise necessary to meet the growing client demand for email campaign development and demand generation.
To help manage our growing list of clients and ensure exceptional service delivery, we brought on Kendra Mahon as Director of Client Services to oversee our account management team.
With the Roger West team expanding quickly, we also welcomed Susana Rodriguez to serve as Executive Assistant to Founder and CEO Michael Westafer and handle day-to-day operational tasks.
Our Work in 2021
Throughout 2021, we had the opportunity to work on several exciting projects for our clients. Some of the big highlights included:
- A multi-channel campaign for “Earth, Wine & Fire,” a special dinner event by Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar
- Graphic designs for the Aussie Grill Food Truck and Stadium Concession Stand, as well as a complete redesign of their website
- Executed a complete rebrand project for Arboreta Healthcare, including a new logo, visual identity, and company name
- Onboarded several new clients in our digital media department, greatly expanding our footprint and portfolio of industries served
We also did a bit of self-care in 2021 by redesigning the Roger West website and working with our friends at Digital Brew to create a new promotional video to show off what sets us apart from the typical marketing agency.
Awards for 2021
This year also proved to be a record-setting one for us in terms of racking up awards for our workplace culture and business performance. Here’s some of the recognition the agency garnered in 2021:
- 3rd consecutive year on Tampa Bay Business Journal’s “Best Places to Work” list (#11)
- Ranked #3 on the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s “Fast 50” list, up from #48 in 2019 and #7 in 2020
- Named one of Florida’s top digital marketing agencies by DesignRush
- Finalist for the Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce’s “Small Business of the Year” award
- Ranked #471 on Inc. Magazine’s “Inc. 5000” list, a 1009-spot jump from 2020
- One of just four Florida-based marketing agencies to be named an honoree and winner of Established Excellence on Inc.’s “Best Workplaces 2021” list
As exciting as these achievements were, it was the recognition we received for our creative work on behalf of our clients that we’re most proud of this year:

Looking Ahead to 2022
As 2022 begins, the Roger West team is looking to continue its streak of success and growth. We’re already putting together innovative campaigns for our clients and looking to add new talent to help us provide even better marketing and branding services.
It would be a huge oversight, however, for us to let 2021 end without broadcasting a huge “THANK YOU” to everyone who made this banner year possible. That includes everyone from our amazing clients and trusted partners to the delivery service drivers who keep a steady supply of lunch coming to the office!
